How is coir produced? mention their use. |
|
Answer» Explanation: It is manufactured from retted coconut husks through a process calledv defibering. The coir fibre thus extracted is then combed using steel combs to make the fibre clean and to remove short fibres. Bristle coir fibre is used as bristles in brushes for domestic and INDUSTRIAL applications. Uses of coir:Typically, white coir spun into yarn is used in the manufacture of rope and, thanks to its strong resistance to salt WATER, in fishing nets. Brown coir is stronger and more widely used than white coir. Applications include sacking, brushes, doormats, RUGS, mattresses, INSULATION PANELS and packaging. |
