How Long Does An Autopsy Take, On Average? |
|
Answer» This is something which can NEVER be fixed. It is the prerogative of the forensic Patholigist to extend the postmortem examination period as and how the situation demands. In straight forward cases I take about 15 minutes to study the circumstances, analyzing the history,30 minutes for Postmortem dissection and ANOTHER 15 minutes for RECORDING the findings. In homicides, suspected homicides,SUSPICIOUS deaths the PM examination period may be extended upto 5-6 hours or more.
