How Much Time Does The Payer Have To Request A Refund Vis-à-vis A Sepa Direct Debit Paid From His/her Account?

Answer»

In the core SEPA direct debit scheme, the consumer may request a refund for a period of 8 weeks after the DATE of the debit of the ACCOUNT if the SEPA direct debit was authorized (see also à SEPA direct debit mandate). Unauthorized core SEPA direct debits can be returned by consumers for a period of 13 months.

Requests for REFUNDS in the business-to-business SEPA direct debit scheme, however, are not permitted for authorized TRANSACTIONS.
