1. Simple Sentence:

• A sentence that has only one independent clause is known as a simple sentence. It is a COMPLETE sentence with a subject and predicate. Example Sita bought a frock.

2. Compound Sentence:

• A sentence in which two independent clauses are joined by a  coordinator is known as a compound sentence. Example 'Sita is a student' and 'her mother is a TEACHER.'
