The wind is beginning to Rock the grass

With scary tunes and low

He flung a menace in the earth

A menace in the sky

The leaves unhooked themselves from trees

And started all abroad ;

The DUST did scoop itself LIKE hands

And throw AWAY the road

The wagons quickened on the streets ,

The thunder hurried slow;

The lightning showed a yellow beak ,

And then a livid claw

The birds put up the bar to nests,

The cattle fled to barns ,

There came one drop of giant rain ,

And then , as if the hands

That held the dams and parted hold ,

The water wrecked the sky ,

But overlooked my father's house ,

Just quartering a tree .

The wind is beginning to rock the grass

Meaning : The wind started to move the grass

With threatening tunes and low

Meaning : In this case the sound of thunder

He flung a menace at the earth

Meaning :  In this case the lightning or /and thunder hit the earth

A menace at the sky

Meaning :  The clouds threw thunder . In this case he means the clouds.

The trees unhooked themselves from trees

Meaning : The leaves fell from the trees because if the rain

And started all abroad

Meaning : And spread away in ever direction

The dust did scoop itself like hands

Meaning : There was so much dust so it is  spreading in large numbers .

And throw away the road

Meaning : In this case it may be that the road got covered by dust or the cars had to stop because their cars front WINDOWS was covered with dust.

The wagons quickened on the streets

Meaning : Because there was no cars moving the wagons or the vehicles which carry goods went faster and also because of rain.

The thunder hurried slow.

Meaning : The thunder came a bit later than it usually would

The lightning showed a yellow  beak

Meaning : The flash of the lightning made a shape of a beak with yellow color

And then a livid claw

Meaning : The lightning is so furious that the poet SAYS it is like a claw

The birds put up the bars to the nests

Meaning : The birds began collecting twigs to strengthen their nests .

The cattle fled to barns

Meaning : this has two . So if you say the cattle fled to barns then it might be person . if you say the cattle fled to the barns then then they are going to their living shed.

There came one drop of giant rain

Meaning : The rain started pouring a bit more heavily

And then ,  as if the hands

Meaning : The rain came like the hands itself came from the sky

That held the dams had parted hold ,

Meaning : The dams which held could not contain the rain and burst open .

The waters wrecked the sky

Meaning : The waters looked like it drenched the sky

But overlooked my father's house

Meaning : It looked at my Father's house

Just quartering a tree

Meaning : quarter past a tree
