In a division sum, the divisor is 5 times the quotient and twice the remainder. If theremainder is 5, what is the number?

Answer»

Given:-

  • The DIVISOR is 5 times the quotient and twice the remainder. The remainder is 5.

To Find:-

Solution:-

According to the question

→ Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder

→ Remainder = 5

Then,

→ Divisor = 2 × 5

→ Divisor = 10

Now,

→ 10 = 5 quotient

→ quotient = 2

After that,

→ Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder

→ Number = 10 × 2 + 5

→ Number = 20 + 5

Number = 25

Therefore,

  • Divisor = 10

Hence,

  • the number is 25.
