Answer» • There is evidence that MENTAL activity may occur when individuals learn. What seems to happen is that PEOPLE actively develop MODELS of the systems they are INTERACTING with. In other words, individuals do not respond directly to the environment, as stimulus–response theories assume, but to the models they construct of it.
