Yes. Weigh it heavily toward books. TV is passive, and even the best TV does nothing for you unless you follow up. If you watch a brilliant science show and don’t take notes or look for more information on the subject, you may as well have been watchingMr. Edreruns.

A book, on the other hand, forces your participation. Even a bad book requires you to decide it is bad, and to choose whether or not to continue reading. I generally give a book 50 pages. If it hasn’t explained to me by then why it is worth reading, then it isn’t.

So the ‘balance’ is to be very unbalanced in favor of books.
