Answer» The title of the story ‘A Hero’ is ironical as well as satirical. It is ridiculous to call a chicken-hearten Swami a hero. The digging of his teeth into the flesh of the notorious burglar was not at all an act of heroism. It was an act out of desperation. No doubt, congratulations came showering on him but he was not a ‘real’ but a fake hero. इस कहानी का शीर्षक ‘एक हीरो’ हास्यास्पद होने के साथ-साथ व्यंग्यात्मक भी है। एक डरपोक लड़के को हीरो कहना हास्यास्पद है। कुख्यात सेंधमार के मांस में अपने दाँतों को घुसा देना हीरो का उदाहरण कतई नहीं कहा जा सकता। यह घबराहट के कारण उठाया गया कदम था। यह सही है कि उस कार्य से उसे मिलने वाली बधाइयों का ताँता लग गया, किंतु वह एक वास्तविक हीरो नहीं बल्कि एक नकली हीरो था। |
