Answer» Solution :Based on the thermal behaviour, plastic can be divided into two categories thermoplastics and THERMOSETTING PLASTICS. Thermoplastics : This type of plastic can be repeatedly PROCESSED by melting and subsequent solidification without undergoing any chemical change. Hence they can be reused. Examples ofthermoplastics are POLYETHYLENE, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, nylon, terelyene etc. Thermosetting plastics : Plastic of this variety cannot be softened by heating and THUS they cannot be reused. Examples of thermosetting plastics are urea formaldehyde, polyurethane, melamine, bakelite etc. |
