Nichrome and copper wires of same length and same radius are connected in series. Current I ispassed through them. Which wire gets heated up more ? Justify your answer. |
| Answer» Solution :In series circuit same current I flows through both the wires. HENCE, heat produced `H = I^2 R`or `H PROP R`. For same length and same RADIUS the resistance of NICHROME wire is more due to its higher resistivity, hence nichrome wire is heated up more than the copper wire. | |
