Answer» Answer :The PROCESS of converting a precipitate into colloidal state by shaking it with dispersion medium containing small amount of electrolyte is CALLED peptisation. For EXAMPLE, when ferric-chloride solution is added to ferric hydroxide precipitate, a reddish brown `Fe(OH)_3` sol is OBTAINED.
