now FACTORISE this

a=1, b=2 ,c= -48

(-48= -8×6 and 8-6=2=b)

x^2-8x+6x-48=0

x(x-8)+6(x-8)=0

(x-8) (x+6)=0

x-8=0 or x+6=0

x=8 or x= -6
