Answer» Given,Rs 140000 is paid by the cashier in Rs500 & Rs2000 notes Total notes he GOT is 100 To find,Number of notes of each denomination Solution ,Let 'x' be the number of 500Rs note Let 'y' be the number of 2000Rs note ACCORDING to the question,ᐅ 500(x) + 2000(y) = 140000 Dividing the equation by 500 .Dividing the equation by 500 .We got,ᐅ x + 4y = 280 ----------(1)Also,ᐅ x + y = 100 (given) -----------(2)Now,Subtracting (2) from (1)ᐅ x + 4y - (x + y) = 280 - 100 ᐅ 3y = 180 ᐅ y = 180/3 ᐅ y = 60 Putting y = 60 in (2) We get,ᐅ x + 60 = 100 ᐅ x = 40 Hence number of 2000Rs note is 60 & number of 500Rs note is 40. |
