Answer» Solution :Fringe width, `y = (D lambda)/(2d)` (i) Distance 2d between the slits is halved, then y is DOUBLED. (ii) Distance D between the screen and the PLANE of the slits is doubled, then again y is doubled. (iii) Due to increase in the optical path for RAYS passing through the covered slit, the fringe PATTERN will be displaced SIDEWAYS.
