Answer»

ong>GIVEN - Length of LADDER - 15 metres

Height from ground - 12 metres

Find - Distance of FOOT of ladder from wall.

Solution - With the concept of Pythagoras theorem, length of ladder can be equivalent to hypotneuse. Height from ground can be equivalent to perpendicular. Further distance of ladder from wall is equivalent to base = q.

As per the FORMULA, perpendicular² + base² = hypotenuse².

Keeping the values in equation-

q² = 15² - 12²

q² = 225 - 144

q² = 81

q = 9 cm

Distance of foot of ladder from wall = 9 cm.
