1.	Q-34. Hydrogen being a highly inflammable gas and oxygen being a supporterof combustion, yet water which is a compound made up of hydrogen andoxygen is used to extinguish fire. Why?
Answer» Water is compound of hydrogen and oxygen. water basically cools the combustible material so that its temperature comes down below its ignition temperature. This prevents the fire from spreading, water vapours sorround the combustible material helping in cutting off the supply of air. So fire is extingushed.
