Answer» <p>In series combination</p><p>Net resistance, Rs= R1+ R2= 20+20 = 40 Ω</p><p>Power consumed = P1= V2/Rs--------(1)</p><p>In parallel combination</p><p>Net resistance, Rp=R1R2/R1+R2= 20 x 20 /20+20 = 10 Ω</p><p>Power consumed = P2= V2/Rp ----------(2)</p><p>Now ratio of the power consumed:</p><p>P1/P2= Rp/Rs</p><p>P1/P2= 10 / 40 = 1/4</p> | |
