Question 5: An object is kept 30cm in front of plane mirror. If the mirror now moved 10cm towards the object, how does the image shift from the previous position? Draw a diagram tojustify your Calculation,

Answer»

Trick question. An image is not a physical OBJECT, and its LOCATION is different for different observers:Two eyeballs see the reflection of the frowny face in two different locations in the MIRROR. For the bottom eyeball, the reflection is 30cm/cos(30)=52cm from the ACTUAL frowny face, for the TOP eyeball it is 30cm/cos(70)=88cm .
