Can someone please tell me how to hook up the cables for a second DISK drive, so that it will not interfere with the existing DVD-ROM? I would like to install a CDR/RW disk drive.
Should the second drive be the SLAVE or the Master? I'm running XP and the existing drive is currently SLAVE.

lake2333C Drive = PRIMARY Master (unless maybe a SCSI controller is involved)
D Drive = Secondary Master
E Drive = Primary Slave
F Drive = Secondary Slave

Look on the drives to see how the jumpers should be set.

1. ASSUMING that you have ONE HDD allready installed and the CD-ROM connected as slave:

Connect an IDE cable to IDE connector 2 on the mainboard. There is no other way.

2. It should be Master or Slave depending on the other device connected to the IDE cable.

In case of no other device connected, remove the JUMPER or set it to Master.
