Solve : 3.5 Floppy disc removal not recognized.?

Answer»

I am running Windows XP.  When I use "My Computer" and click on Drive A it recognizes a DISC if present.  The problem occurs when I remove the floppy.  I can close "My Computer" and when I reopen it and click on Drive A it shows that the disc is still there.  It will even so a directory if I click on one of the folders shown.  If I put a DIFFERENT disc into the drive it will still show the info from the original disc.

The drive will read and write correctly.
It's normal BEHAVIOR. Before you remove floppy highlight something else, then drive A, in Windows Explorer. Drive C, for instance. Remove floppy, and upon restarting Windows Explorer, it won't show any folders/files in drive A.I tried that many times.  It still gives me a directory of the floppy that was there first.Did you try the "Refresh" item from one of the pull-down menus of the My_Computer window (File, EDIT, View)?  Don't currently have Windows XP system available so I don't recall which menu it's on.View>Refresh, or F5Tried refreshing from several pull down menus but that doesn't work EITHER.
