Solve : 30" Floppy Cable DIY?

Answer»

After searching the web for what seems to be an eternity, I have decided to make my own floppy cable.
I have a DFI Lanparty MB in a SuperMicro server case, unfortunately, the floppy connector is situated at the bottom of the case, and the 3.5" bay is at the top! 30" away.

Any ideas, peeps?  :-/I have some very long floppy cables that come with SCSI connectors  (I think they are SCSI connectors) About twice or thrice the length of modern day 34 pin flat ribbon cables.

AT-era 34 pin flat ribboncables, they are. If that is what you are looking for, I can send you one if I didn't allready give them away.Thanx for the offer mate   I'm pretty sure I have one of those in a box somewhere!
Looks like I'll have to do some CUTTING, will also need some sleeving and I'll take some boots off an old rounded cable, to do a nice job.

Question is, will I encounter data transfer problems? There is a maximal length for IDE flat ribbon cables.

Not QUITE certain what the numbers are, though.

Standard 40-pin ATA interface cable, or an 80-conductor cable if running UATA66/100 (max length: 18 inches).
The industry standard max length is 18 inches...however the site i visited tested longer lengths up to 28 inches. Some devices exhibited signal loss and some didn't.
Based on this i guess you'll just have to TRY and see.
