Answer» My system crashes when I play 3d games. At an certain point in most games it just crashes and restarts my pc. When I lower the resolution / details / shading most of the time I can play beyond that point in the game and undo the changes to resolution and play on. I FIRST tought it was a problem with the drivers of my videocard or motherboard. But after a FRESH install of Windows with all the latest drivers the problem remains. By now I think the problem lies with my PSU. It is 4 years old whereas most a my pc has been UPGRADED since then. Anyone any other tought on what the problem could be?

Before new install Vista 32bit now Windows 7 64 bitYkou have answered your own question.
The PSU is not BAD, but after four years it gets a lot of dust and crud in it and has to have a DEEP cleaning. It is overheating.
Or remove some of the hardware you do not need.
