Answer» hello. i just got a clone 486 pc and have decided to upgrade the board. however I have no manual to reference the jumper settings. there is no manufacture info or numbers on this board. can anyone point me in the right direction or offer solid advise? cheers.Hi hello. i just got a clone 486 pc and have decided to upgrade the board. So what are you going to upgrade ? If the board works just put as much memory in as it will take. Look for a Disk on module or IDE to Compact flash adapter to help improve loading speed. If you upgrade the processor unless it is a 486SX 33 to a 486 dx2/66 will have LITTLE effect. Where is the picture? Some here may remember the board or can advise if there is any upgrade possible. Often the really cheap 486 motherboards had no 2nd cache, CPU's soldered on the board no sockets. So were not upgradable. And without secondary cache were dogs and not worth doing anything with.
