Solve : 64K / 60Hz - Frequency out of range - when systems boots??

Answer»

I am pretty much a NOVICE on the computer. Yesterday I received a PC game and tried to load the game and although it autostarted it would not load. After about 60 seconds the screen went blank, EXCEPT for a single line accross the upper edge of the screen. There was no sound or anything else. I thought it might be loading and left for several minutes and came back to find it had not changed. I opened the disc DRIVE and removed the disc and found it very hot (the disc). I had to reset the machine and went I did so, it went through the normal set up screens including the Windows screen but before the icons screen would normally appear the screen went dark except for a message in the center stating the following:

First row: 64K / 60 hz
Second Row Frequency Out Of Range

Nothing else will COME up. Can anyone help with this and tell me what to do. I have tried the same disc on other computers. It would not work on any but did not effect the others in this way. The computer is older as is the monitor being used (about five years on both)

Thanks

RwalterCan you get into safe mode?No I cannot seem to get into the safe mode? The only thing I can do is ACCESS the bios by hitting F1 as the windows programs loads. There does not seem to be anything in the bios that will help.
