Answer»

hello everyone .

just asking around whether this mid-range CARD is much better than 8600 or does it have the same performance? and can this card hold up for some time befor it crumples for new high-end game, say like two years or so?

thanksI heard that the 9600 uses the same design as the 8600. They just changed the number to MAKE people think it was the new thing.....the 9600 has some new thing's

i think it's a bit better

if you want it's full power (speed), make SURE you have a PCI-E x16 '''2.0''' slot on you motherboard

the 2.0 just make's it a bit fasterQuote from: Gilgamesh21 on April 10, 2008, 10:09:15 AM

the 9600gt is about the equivalent of a 8800gt, so it will BEAT any 8600 model.

HARD to say. technology is improving so fast its difficult to tell.

well 9600gt I think will support DX 10.1 whereas DX 10.

But well, I hear that 9800GT is going to come out and hopefully I'll be seeing these in the specs:

Memory Type: GDDR4
Memory Size: 512MB

And hopefully GDDR4 is for real just like GDDR3 was against GDDR2. People tell me that GDDR4 is barely better than GDDR3 and I hope that is not the case. Also when Nvidia implements Aegis's physX technology into their cards that would be awesome.

I wouldn't buy a separate PhysX card but to use it whenever necessary for free however little, that's cool!
