We plugged the RJ45 cable out of the router into the working computer before we plugged it into the computer running 98Well, that prooves nothing on the WIN 98 machine.all I ment was that we had a good connection coming out of the router.. But, what's subject of this discussion? The network card in that Win 98 computer. Since you have no Internet connection with it when connected to a line you know has a Internet signal, that sure doesn't support your claim that wife's son was able [successfully] to install the startech card on Easter Sunday. I was going by what device mgr. said - that the card was recognized and the drivers were installed correctly....Let me guess... you still think that the card is junk! Has ANYONE ever heard of Startech? ESPECIALLY as opposed to D-Link, Netgear, 3Com, Linksys, etc.?
