Answer» my computer has 512MB of pc3200 RAM. i CAME across 256MB of pc2700, and was WONDERING...
If i added the 256MB to my current 512MB:
well it would slow my 3200 down to 2700.. but.. would this speed loss outweigh my increase in RAM? or would the RAM increase outweigh the loss in speed?
basically, i need more RAM, but can't afford an extra gig of pc3200, and was wondering if this will offer a significant performance increase, loss, etc?The additional RAM will speed things up. However your 3200 will revert to the lower speed 2700 by default.
I'm not a rocket scientist and can't do the math off the TOP of my head however i believe you will see a slight performance gain...It depends on the game. The only way is to add the RAM and find out.
