Solve : acpi laptop fan?

I have a panasonic cf-71 laptop at 600mzh. When I loaded xp on it now my cooling FAN doesn't work. I runs till the logon screen in windows, then nada.   How can I keep from FRYING my laptop? You better not run it at all until you have solved the fan ISSUE, the heatsink MAYBE provide some cooling but a too GREAT amount of heat will (or it may allready have) damage(d) your CPU.
