Solve : Added RAM, EFF'd up Computer. Need Help!?

Answer»

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with 1 gig of RAM. 4 x 256 mb DDR SDRAM. My Computer's capacity is 4 gigs of RAM.
Last year I had 512 mb (2 x 256) of RAM and added another 512 mb (2 x 256) of RAM. It was really easy to install and my computer recognized it with no problems (purchased it from Dell).

I purchased 2 x 1 gig RAM from a Power seller on EBAY with 99.9% Pos FB (close to 10000 pos fb) So I felt like I could buy with confidence and my computer model was listed as 100% campatible (Im not worried about the money ISSUE, cuz 30-day money back)

These are the steps & problems Ive had with the installation (2 days ago):

- took out the paired RAM sticks, and left the other 2 RAM sticks
- added the 2 1 gig RAM sticks and put it in the appropriate spots
- turned on computer and got the following messege

"The AMOUNT of system memory has changed.
Diskette drive 0 seek failure
Primary drive 0 not found
Primary drive 1 not found
Strike the F1 key to coninue, F2 setup utility"
(it was somthing like that)

- I pressed F2 setup utility and I looked under memory and my computer detected the memory 2500 mb RAM (2 x 256 mb + 2 x 1 gig). I exited and it asked to press contol + alt+ delete
- I restarted and after a few tries windows finally loaded up, I went into control panel -> system -> system properties to view it and my RAM was listed as 2.5 gb RAM.
- After a few minutes I got the BLUE SCREEN and it mentioned something about "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR"

- I tried a few other things, like only kept the 2 1 gig ram sticks in the slots but everything the same happned as described earlier

- I finally gave up and put the 4 original RAM sticks back to were they used to be, I rebooted and got the similar message again
"Diskette drive 0 seek failure
Primary drive 0 not found
Primary drive 1 not found
Strike the F1 key to coninue, F2 setup utility"
- After a few failed reboots, I took out a RAM stick and just slid it back in and finally wndows statred up and after a few minutes I got a BLUE SCREEN again
- after a few reboots I choose "Last known WORKING configuration" and loaded up to a messed up windows.

I decided to format HD and re-install everything. Dduring that process Ive had to restart the computer many times due to programs and updates requesting it, and every reboot worked with no problem. Until today a program froze so I just rebooted and got that horrible messege again
"Diskette drive 0 seek failure
Primary drive 0 not found
Primary drive 1 not found
Strike the F1 key to coninue, F2 setup utility"

And after a couple tries windows loaded up.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOIN ON, PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks in advance.
