JCIf you are buying a dvd-rw, they are all ide interface and are compatable with almost any pc. What are your pc specs and what TYPE of DRIVE do you want? Quote

SATA only if your mainboard SUPPORTS it.

IDE (ATA) is the most common interface. However, you can only connect 4 IDE devices to one motherboard.

ATAPI means that it is build according to certain standards.
