Solve : after clean install: PC cant find 2 internal HD's?

Answer»

had a SEVERE attack from win32Heur virus/trojan and decided for a clean install. Went well, but I saw that the 2 internal hd's werent recognised....is it POSSIBLE that the virus has infected the motherboard? In the bios I see changes too, no 2 internal hd's, c:\ is all of a sudden first slave and dvdrom primary master...need some tough advise...are so fed up with it....got the infection back again and have only visited MS update...

specs: AMD Athlon 64, 3200+, 3Gb RAM, XP+SP3, XP FIREWALL and AVG free version 8.5. D-Link wireless adapter...IE8 It is extremely rare if possible at all to get an infection in the BIOS so i doubt highly if this is the case here.
Did you remember to re-install your MBoard chipset drivers ? ?
Try HOOKING up one of the internals to another machine to see if they are recognised...yup, updated the lot...somebody told me to do something with the jumpers, put them all on cable select??+++well, case solved....disconnected the HD's and was looking for the jumpers, easy but more pins than I liked, so I connected them all again to look on the net for info on these WD HD's and when started up, the chip said: found 2 more HD's...lol

What bothers me is why this happened...I had some attacks from win32 heur virus but everybody tells me that is no MB virus...anybody any idea? Somehow the jumpers were changed at one point in time...yeah, by a GHOST? Billy Gates' ghost???.. hahahahahahahaha. , sorry but that doesnt HELP...hahahahahahahahaha
