Solve : All DVD drives will not work??

Answer»

I agree with Patio, you may have had a succession of bad drives. Why don't you try those drives on another computer? I'll bet you that a local computer repair store could try them out for free. Or the place you bought them from.Ill try that TOMORROW. Ill have to do it at a friends house. Ill update my post when Im done.Okay, Ive been busy, but Im Back. I tried it on a friends computer, and IT WORKED! I BURNED a couple of discs, and without a PROBLEM. Why wont it work in my pc? Is it possible that my motherboard is going bad?If you tried a brand new IDE cable and it does not work and you have UNINSTALLED the IDE channel in Device Manager as Broni suggested above then YES that IDE channel is dead...
No reason to give up on the board however...you can get a PCI/IDE addon card that will add up to 4 more IDE slots. Thanks Patio!! I will try that.
