Answer» I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but I'll ask anyways. I have BROADBAND internet and that obviously is run through a phone line as well as a cable connection. I cancelled my land line a long time ago. I am GOING through the setup process of my new printer and on the part to set the fax up after HOOKING up the phone cord it asks for a header and a phone number. My question is that SINCE I cancelled my land line is there any way to HOOK up the printer to receive faxes via the modem? Obviously I can't just make up a number so my assumption is that there isn't. Not directly to your all-in-one, but there is Internet Faxing which does not require a fax machine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_fax It's pretty much like scanning the document & attaching it to an email. Your all-in-one requires a dial tone to function as a fax machine.
