Hi, wonder if ANYONE can help. I bough an HP w19" LCD monitor for my PC (running XP), which has been working fine for a number of weeks but yesterday a line has appeared about THREE quarters of the way down the screen, its only about a mm thick & is a mixture of BLACK & different coloured blues but its really annoying. I have tried reconnecting the monitor etc but no luck. If you can help I would appreciate it, thanks.Is it present ALL the time? If not what triggers it? How about going into BIOS setup and see if it appears there, as this would be before Windows loads.Try swapping videocards and see if it STILL happens.Hi, thanks for the interest - the line is there all the time & as a bit of a PC novice I wouldn't know how to swap video cards ? - is this something fairly easy to do ?If the anomaly is there even in the BIOS screen it is a bad video adapter. YOu can try removing and reseating it (while the machine is off) and see if this makes any difference. What is the make and model of the computer or motherboard and if known, the video adapter?
