Regarding The firewall: I have a firewall built in to my avast anti-virus software. should I get one of the ones you recommend and disable my avast firewall? Regarding Secunia: I clicked on the link you gave me and it looks like the page is loading and loading. then I got a Java Security Warning. I had just updated the latest version of Java. Secunia is now telling me that the application requires an earlier version. If I change it to the earlier version, how do I change it BACK? It seemed to take a long time to download the latest version in the first place. Meanwhile, I have to cancel the online scan... Regarding something else: When I shut down my computer the other day, it gave me an error message telling me that "SynTPE.exe was preventing the computer from shutting down" I have no idea what it is, so I ended the program. I've been told that sometimes that is evidence of a virus of some sort... should I be concerned? I really thought I knew more about computers than I realized. I guess I am just a babe. And I really thought we were done! As you type, items that match your text will appear on the Start menu. The search is based on text in the file name, text in the file, tags, and other file properties.
