I am currently usaing a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 PCI Express card ...I would LIKE to get an ATI Radeon X850 XT Video Card 8x AGP 256MB GDDR3 ...

Well...there's your problem right there!  PCI Express is not AGP and is not PCI-X or PCI.

You better do your homework before you buy anything else!

How PCI Express Works

Intel says:
"PCI Express (PCIe) is a new I/O bus technology that, over time, will replace Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI), PCI-X, and Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP). By providing advanced features and increased bandwidth, PCIe addresses many of the shortcomings of PCI, PCI-X, and AGP. PCIe retains full software compatibility with PCI Local Bus Specification 2.3, and it replaces the parallel multidrop bus architecture of PCI and PCI-X with a serial, point-to-point connection bus architecture. "

"It is well known that graphics can always use more bandwidth than what is available. Graphics data transfers cause maximum traffic on the PCI bus. The continual increase in graphics demand and complexity eventually made the PCI bus insufficient, which led to the invention of AGP. Now we are pushing the limits of what AGP can deliver, and we need a better solution. PCIe surpasses AGP in bandwidth availability, with more room for expansion in the near future. By increasing the number of lanes in a link, graphics adapters can take advantage of increased bandwidth and faster data transfer. Graphics adapters will be using the X16 link, which will provide a bandwidth of 4 Gbps in each direction. " Quote

Read again... I said the only reason I bought that card was becuase ATI cost more... I didn't have the money... No choice...

I wish lol  I'm stuck with NVIDIA right now becuase when I bought my new computer, I would not have enough money to get an ATI card... Too much for the computer already lol

Don't leave out the little details... Read my whole message. You might miss something otherwise...  ;)

Does your motherboard fully support this Flame? Quote

Why would you want an AGP graphics card when you have an PCI-E card installed?

I would consider that a downgrade.To Fed: Dell installed the card for me hwne I customizxed it online. I think (and hope) it is lol  Seems to be working find for now...

To Raptor: I have no idea if it is PCI or PCI-E. I'll have to look. It's actually word of mouth that I kind of prefer AGP over standard PCI. I'l have to check on PCI-E...

Too many drugs?  Can't remember?  You said it was PCI Express.woooo... Maybe I just didn't know that PCI-E is for PCI Express... Maybe I didn't TRY to put 2 and 2 together... Maybe I like using the older names, becuase there seems to be a new shortcut being made every two minutes... PLUS, you know how they show you all the technical information on the papers... I thought it was ONE of those technical things which I have ever wasted my life reading lol  Too many drugs? lol  A lame excuse for why someone got his terms confused. lol    Take it easy. Geez! Just a simple mistake. Get over yourself Mr. Perfect.    You act like you've never made a mistake before in your life...

[glb]Flame[/glb]You know what. Nevermind. I'm not going to fight with you over the whole thing. I'll be a man and admit I was wrong, becuase... I was lol  I refuse to waste my time fighting with you over somehthing so... Stupid... So now it's in the past. Back to the original conversation...

These are the regular names.

PCI = 32 bit
PCI-X = 64bit
PCI-E = Express Quote
PCI = 32 bit

The only one I have ever heard lol

PCI-X is found mainly on server mainboards. PCI-Express is what you see on new mainboards.
