Answer» I have an ASUS N10J netbook with the Intel Atom N270 processor. Up untill now, I haven't had any problems with it. I have had SetFSBTray overclocking the CPU every time I startup to 2GHz which is stable. I then developed the problem that when the overclocking utility did it's job, the computer would freeze. I then took a look at CPU-Z and it told me that it was running at 718Mhz (120X6) which is fine as this is Speedstep halving the multiplier. The problem is that it won't go back up to a X12 multiplier which would give the 1.4GHz which is still not the 1.6GHz STOCK speed. The multiplier will not go higher than 8, giving a 960MHz clock. When I overclock the CPU to give me a better speed with the 8 multiplier, it freezes. It has twice reverted back to the x12 multiplier and I have then been able to overclock to 2GHz without problem but when I reboot, it goes back to x8
Please help me with this as it is running very slowly and is extremely frustrating!Hi Boo

Check this .pdf may Help you.
Hope that Helps. Thanks for the reply but with all due respect, that doesn't help me at all. I know that the N270 uses the 12x and 6x multipliers to save power but mine is using 8x and 6x, resulting in much lower clock speeds.
I have now update all my drivers and flashed the BIOS but to no avail.
Someone please help me!! I'm running at 960MHz for GOODNESS sake!Don't use SetFSBTray with the ACER netbook.I'm using an ASUS netbook and I have disabled SetFSBTray since it started playing up.
