Solve : atx psu?

i have a faulty atx psu with the green wire, can i replace the atx with the psu with a grey wire if i brige from grey to ground to get it to start up

i have it installed in the machine now and the MOTHERBOARD light is on and the fans are running only i DONT have any video out

no signal
and  monitor GOES into power save MODE
