Solve : Atypical Samsung QLED Backlight\Uniformity issue?

Answer»

Hello all,

So basically, I have a Samsung C27H711 2560x1440 QLED monitor. It has a 75Hz refresh rate which is fine by me as it is not the monitor I use for gaming. I got this monitor from a family friend who hadn't used it in a year or so. Anywho, the monitor seems to have some sort of odd screen\backlight uniformity issue. When the monitor is first powered on, there is a hotspot ALONG the bottom EDGE of the screen where it appears the backlight is heavily bleeding through. It can mostly be seen on all white or all black scenes\screens. As the monitor heats up though, the hotspot becomes less and less but is always slightly there. It kind of CAUSES a YELLOWISH area on white backgrounds even when it has diminished almost entirely.

I have taken a series of photos, which I've linked to above. Since the monitor was free I can't really complain much and Im also not afriad to crack it open to see what's going on in there. I like to tinker with things but I wanted to see if any of you could point me in the right direction. Sorry for the rambling, just trying to give you as much info as I can. If there is anything ELSE you need from me, let me know. Thanks!
