Answer» Problem ..... Computer shutsdown and re-boots automaticaly when using the listed audio devices.
1) Microphone in the Mic Jack (front & BACK)
2) Opening of editing software 'Power Director' when the sound microphone icon is active.
3) Line input has my sony walkman (mini-disk type) installed for upload to 'Audacity'
All other sound functions work fine. E.G. Volume Control tests, internet video, Music Files, etc.
I recently installed a new video card (Radeon HD2600 Pro).
Old Video card was no good. Booted up the computer and all was well. installed ATI Software that came with video card. Has this installation caused my sound/crash/re-boot problem?

Thanks for any help,
Onboard sound correct ? I would double check the front panel header wiring to make sure it is correct.
Any yellow exclamation points in Device Manager since installing the new vid card ? ? It's possible it's a faulty card but if it's operating properly this is unlikely...Patio,
Thanks for input. I solved the problem this AM. Re-Loaded Intel Audio Drivers for my D945GTP Board. I had re-loadeded other drivers previously but to no avail. All fixed now. Thanks again idsteveNo problem and glad you got it fixed up...
