Solve : audio line in from rca to 3.5mm connecting xbox360 via vga to PC?

Answer»

I have an xbox 360 that i have connected to my dell 2007wfp monitor. It has rca audio CONNECTORS and the 3.5mm converter. My XPS410 has the wl600 surround connected and the only line in is for playback(vhs, dvd players) or microphone. I tried of course this input with no result. Do I have to BUY a separate receiver and speakers? i recommend not routing your speakers for your Xbox through your comp. you will notice that your sound will lag. if you wish to use the same speakers for both your computer and Xbox, then i recommend using a reciever that lets you choose which source you would like to hear.Thanx Homer. I'm shopping for an affordable 7.1 or 5.1. I have lots of options it would seem. My pc has optical/digital audio out so that should make that simple enough. Perplexed by the challenge of connecting my Dell speakers to a receiver that has RCA plugs but I know there are Y cables and stuff for that. For now I am using Sony wireless headphones that are kinda staticy but it BEATS not hearing anything.hmmm, i may have a solution...

Z5500 5.1 speakers by Logitech. it has RCA in and digital coax and optical in. the front control panel lets you choose the source. so that means you could hook up your computer to it via the RCA jacks and you could hook up your Xbox to it via the digital coax or optical jack. this eliminates the need for a reciever. it also comes with a remote so you do not need to have the control panel in front of you at all times.
