Answer» Hello, recently today i bought a mic for my computer. It has the 3.5mm audio jack, which i plugged into my computer mic socket. But the problem is, the computer hasnt detected the mic, and it DOESNT work? is there anything i should do, or know about , to get this mic working?except perhaps for fancy high-end SOUND cards, no special detection is present. There are only two things to check. USING the Volume CONTROL (sndvol32) select options-&GT;properties, and choose "recording". Click OK. now make sure the Microphone input volume is not muted or too low. Verify wether the microphone works by checking if sound recorder can record sounds. If not- Is it plugged into a front Microphone jack? If so, try to find one on the rear of the computer.
