Solve : Backlight help?

Answer»

I replaced a backlight and it worked good. 3 days later it went out again. So I'm trying to fix it again. The SOLDER joints still looked good. I re-soldered each and it still won't come on. It appears the bulb has BURNED out again. Could something be causing it to burn out?

This backlight went out about 4 years ago and it was replaced under warranty.

I'm thinking it might be the inverter. Could that be burning out the bulb? Can I check the voltage of the inverter with a multimeter? Is there any way to find out if this is the PROBLEM?

I know I'm going to have to replace the backlight again, but should I ALSO replace the inverter? I don't want to burn out another one.

This is a Sony Vaio PCG-GRT170I still need help. Anyone? Not an expert here but it could in fact be the inverter.

Is the laptop not under warranty ANYMORE?
