Answer» I just put in a new hard drive and installed xp on it and everything works fine except no sound. Before I took the old drive out there was sound so I'm SURE SOMETHING basic was enabled in windows.
Is there some kind of way to get the sound back that is easy to CONFIGURE? I don't need all the bells and whistles, but hearing an occaisional video newsfeed would be nice.
Thanks in advance for any advice. Most likely, you have sound card driver missing. Go to Device Manager, and see, if you have any yellow exclamation/question marks there. What Windows version? What computer maker, and model?Whenever you re-install an OS any existing Drivers are WIPED out ...substituted (sometimes) by Windows drivers... Re-install your MBoard drivers found on the Driver CD that shipped with the machine... If you can't find the CD ( happens every time ) post back and the HUNT will be on...
