Solve : Battery Help Needed? |
|
Answer» Hi, Hi,1 - How old is the battery?I don't know I think the laptop was brought in 2007If the battery is charging then the power adapter should be good. If it just does not hold a charge very long I would first suspect a battery that is not long for this world. I had a Dell Latitude laptop that I BOUGHT in 2003 and it was used. I don't think Dell has made Latitude's in years and if that battery is what originally came with the machine, there's a good CHANCE you just need a new battery. No tricks I know to bring that baby back to life. I'd be sure to buy some flowers for it's funeral though, it's sure been a good one! Okay, is it possibly because that 90w charger is to fast and it needs a slow charge to work better? If so how do we do a slow charge with a 90w charged? These people say you might be able to restore the battery, I am not sure it it really works. Read it over carefully and see if would apply to you problem. http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm Quote from: jacksonc on September 18, 2009, 01:58:05 PM how do we do a slow charge with a 90w charged? With a resistor on the output side of the transformer. But that is not GOING to solve the problem, but will only prolong it (barely}. The 90watt is fine for your D505 provided it is supplying a good battery. And the 65 watt adapter is not going to cure a faulty battery any better. Maybe the link Geek-9pm posted will help or maybe someone else knows a trick that I don't, but I wouldn't hold your breath. BTW, I understand why your trying to AVOID BUYING a battery. From what I found, via quick search, those suckers are not cheap. this is about the cheapest I found. Good luck |
