Answer» Hi, I need a PCI-E graphics card, for under £130($256)
And i was WOUNDER what was the best one
I'm getting a new motherboard (Nforce 780i)
and that one doesn't support my CURRENT Graphics card
thankshttp://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_nr_p_36_pr?keywords=9600GT+&rs=560798&rh=n%3A560798%2Ck%3A9600GT+&low-price=0.00&high-price=130&x=0&y=0
I found these, but I don't get what makes one £100 and another £130, if there all the same make
also some of them say, Memory Type:DDR3
but my board supports DDR2 or is that just for ram They're not the same make, there is actually quite a few different brands in your link. The thing most of them have in common is that they use the same GPU. But that doesn't necessarily make them identical. Take a look at the technicals specs for these two for example. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inno-3D-GeForce-Express-Graphics/dp/B00140K3W0/ref=sr_1_1/202-4193726-3909467?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1208087020&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Nvidia-9600GT-Express-graphics/dp/B00144N1V6/ref=sr_1_5/202-4193726-3909467?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1208087020&sr=1-5 The second one have a higher core and memory clock than the first one. Whether the slight increase in clock speed is actually worth the extra money is a whole nother question though.
What RAM your board supports only matters when buying RAM. Graphics cards CONTROL their own RAM so MOBO support is not a factor. Thanks Deerpark
You've been very helpful
I'll go with the cheaper one for now. just an added note, its never worth purchasing a factory overclocked video card. you can overclock it at home for free.
