Solve : Bios can't find sata hard drive?

Answer»

I just got a "Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM" and put in my desktop. When I went into bios to see if it was there I didn't see it. I booted into windows and didn't see it in My Computer but could see it in the device manager. Every time I boot up it says found new hardware "mass storage device" but can't find any of the drivers. My MACHINE is not connected to the internet so I can't  have it look online and the seagate site dosn't have drivers for internal hard drives. Any IDEAS?

ThanksLook in discmanagment & see if its there?you need to format the drive to be visible.

right click my computer
click manage
left window find and click disk management
find the new volume
then right click and select format
then wait a while... 500gb  quite a while
THANKS!!!!!! So I tried to install windows on my new Sata drive with the XP install disc but it still dosn't pop up in the partitioning window. It also still dosn't pop up in my bios. I made the mistake of wiping my other hardrive clean beacuse I thought I was going to install windows on the new drive. I flashed my bios and still can't see the sata drive. I guess I could install windows again on my IDE drive then format my sata drive within windows and see if it pops up in the windows partitioning page but that would take awhile and might not WORK. I also tried poping a VISTA disc in to see if that would find my drive but it said that it did not have the right drivers... I got acouple linux distros I could try but I'm not very GOOD with liunx. Can anyone think of a way for me to install windows on the sata drive?

Thanks for the help

BClooks like I posted that on the wrong thread, sorry
