Solve : Bios Death?

Answer»

I flashed my award bios with a beta VERSION (Asus motherboard) and immediately went dead. I cant EVEN power up now.

Is my bios chip fried?Did the flash process fail? The flash process said it was SUCESSFUL. It did warn me that it wasnt the right bios, but since it was a beta version and it is an older second computer I went for it anyway.

What do you think? It hung immediately and now wont power up (1/2 second power up, then dead). My Asus mobo book says that if your bios is dead it then checks A:
Try booting it with a floppy that contains the original or latest bios file for your mobo.
My book goes on to say, make sure the file is renamed as P4P800.ROM (In my case)

Maybe read the book a little. Quote

You downloaded a beta version for the wrong CMOS chip? The latest versions for many Asus motherboards are Beta.  If they work, Asus doesn't seem to bother to change the name.  I have 2 DIFFERENT Asus motherboards and both Award BIOS say: Beta.did you save the old bios to floppy.....before you flash the bios .if not.....you may need a NEW mobo...... Older versions are available from Asus.
