Solve : Bios Problems?

I have recently built a new system and I am getting a message that the bios is turned off.  Can anyone tell me where I go to turn it on or what do I have to do?I have never seen this error message on any machine...is there a CMOS battery on the MBoard ? ?
You will have to remove a side panel to CHECK this.
It's about the SIZE of a dime.
